Investigation on field removed pipe sections in the PISC hot laboratoriesFunded under: JRC-REACTSAFE 5C
Action No. 1 of PISC III, Real Contaminated Structures (RSC), seeks to collect results from specific investigations and limited round robin tests on real service induced defects in materials and structures of the primary circuit of light water reactors. The hot cell facilities at JRC-Ispra are fully equipped for non-destructive and destructive work on a collaborative basis. Cracked austenitic steel primary circuit pipes coming from the primary circuit of the Muehleberg reactor in Switzerland have been inspected in order to demonstrate the validity of the facilities to examine these contaminated pieces.
