Abstract

Remote sensing has developed very rapidly during the past two decades. This technology, now available to most resource managers, offers new information for better management of land-based natural resources and the environment, throughout the world and in particular with regard to developing countries. It is now possible, in light of experience gained from working with various forms of RS, to evaluate their capabilities and suitability for various land resource applications with the maximum effectiveness for decision making.
