The PASSYS project : Phase I 1986-1989 : Subgroup Instrumentation
The development and setting up of the test equipment for the execution of the experimental work of the PASSYS Project was the main concern of the Instrumentation Subgroup. In order to provide highly reliable and reproducible test data for the characterisation of the thermal and solar performances of building components, theoretical and experimental research was carried out on different measurement methods. These investigations led to the selection of the appropriate sensors and provided information on the accuracy and the calibration, the installation and the practical use of these sensors. The results from detailed research on the measurement of surface and air temperatures, heat fluxes, ventilation rates by tracer gas techniques and longwave radiation are reported.
