Annual progress report on nuclear data 1989Funded under: JRC-NUMEAS 4C
This report presents work carried out by Project Nuclear Measurements of the CBNM during 1989. Work continued on the improvement of the set of standard neutron cross-sections. In fission technology, the ratio of neutrons emitted/absorbed for 235U was measured in the 2-100 meV range, and a new value obtained for the neutron width of the 1.15 keV resonance in 56Fe. In the fusion technology area, work continued on data for calculations of neutron transport in the blanket and prediction of gas production and on measurements of double differential neutron emission cross- sections. The radionuclide metrology subproject was concerned with determination of decay-scheme data, preparation of special standards and improvement of techniques. Neutron flux and dose determinations were provided for neutron irradiations in radiobiological studies at the Van der Graaff accelerator.
