Experimental strain analysis by laser holographic interferometry
Techniques of laser holographic interferometry are employed for the absolute measurement of strains at the surface of cylindrical pressure vessels. For small deformations, the numerical code ELISA has been developed which yields the map of strains of a desired zone of the structure. Three digitised interferograms of this zone, made under the same load conditions and from three different angles, are needed as input data. The possibility of using optical fibres for examining non directly accessible structural regions is also successfully investigated.
