Abstract

The seventh workshop on electron cyclotron (ECE) and electron cyclotron resonance heating (ECRH) was held in Hefei, China, from 9-11 May 1989. This report contains four presented papers and a summary of the meeting. The first paper describes recent developments in the JET ECE system and some current areas of application. The second paper discusses a relative calibration method for the JET ECE heterodyne radiometer. The third paper considers the physics of a collective scattering diagnostic to measure the velocity and spatial distributions of fast ions and alpha particles in JET. The fourth paper considers technical aspects of the same system.
