The PASSYS test cells
The characterisation of the thermal behaviour of passive solar and other building components is central to the PASSYS programme. The PASSYS test cells are identical test facilities spread throughout Europe, equipped with a common set of measurement instruments and control devices. These can be used to determine the thermo-physical properties of building components and the effect of outdoor climate changes on the indoor climate, in an objective and reproducible way. This report provides a detailed overview of the technical features of the test cells, their heating and cooling systems, data acquisition system, instrumentation, airtightness, ventilation rates and the test sites involved.
