Abstract

Rapid changes in the environment, society, science and their interactions are causing new scientific problems that are global in scale and long-term in their impact. A new type of scientific enquiry is emerging, referred to as "Second Order Science" in this report. This Second Order Science is described and the issues giving rise to it are discussed.
