The JET project: a review of progressFunded under: FP2-FUSION 10C
JET has recently reached fusion-relevant plasma parameters. An overview of the project is given, showing the enhancements that have been made which have led to the improved performance. The limits of the key parameters (n, beta and tor(E)) are presented and it is shown that the central values of density n and temperature T are crucial. Ways to improve these are discussed. The presentation of the presently obtained high fusion parameters is followed by a discussion of results to be expected with D-T operation.
