Abstract

Eroded copper fluxes from the target plates in the ASDEX divertor were measured spectroscopically. The measuring method is outlined and comprehensive experimental material for various modes of tokamak operation is presented. Assuming thermal sputtering to be the only erosion process, there is good agreement between the code predictions and the measurements.
