Abstract

This report covers three papers presented by the Euratom-CEA Association to the 31st meeting of the APS Plasma Physics Division in November 1989. The first paper reports on ergodic divertor experimental results in the Tore Supra, including edge measurements for divertor operation with Chirikov parameters in the range 1-3, infrared images of the outboard limiter and the effect of divertor coil current on the confinement of high energy electrons and impurity profiles. The second paper concerns power deposition to the pump limiters in Tore Supra with ohmic plasmas, and the modification of power scrape-off length. The third paper describes measurements of pressure build up and particle fluxes in the Tore Supra pump limiter, and plans for the next phase of experiments.
