Fishbone activity in JET
During auxiliary heating experiments in JET, periodic bursts of oscillations resembling 'fishbones' are observed in the signals of several diagnostics. The characteristics of these bursts are described and the regime over which they occur is analysed. In addition, the evidence for their interaction with high energy particles is considered, with particular reference to theoretical models of the instability which is believed to be responsible for these bursts.
