Emergency pressure relief of batch reactors
The safety of batch reactors under runaway reaction or external fire conditions is reviewed. Design methods for adequate emergency relief systems including two-phase flow conditions are described. In particular, experimental and analytical procedures concerning the in-vessel/venting-line fluid flow descriptions are presented and discussed.
