The present work deals with investigations on void formation in the ODS alloys MA 6000 and MA 760 at 1050 C. The effect is analysed for stress free and for stressed samples up to a maximum exposure time of 11000 h. It is shown that porosity penetrates to a greater depth with increasing time and in the long term range the depth is found to reach about 2 mm. Usually the void size is below about 20 micron2, but in some cases coalescence leads to much larger voids. These figures show that void formation can be highly important for thin technical components.
