Non-destructive assay of radioactive wasteFunded under: FP1-RADWASTOM 3C
The purpose of the meeting reported in this volume was to review the experience gained in the laboratories of different countries on the measurement methods that accompany radioactive waste management, from the source of the waste to its disposal. Non-destructive assay finds applications in the initial sorting of waste, declassification after contamination, the dosing of waste during processing and conditioning, and the certification of compliance with disposal criteria. The meeting was divided into sessions on active methods, passive methods, integrated and/or combined systems, performance, correlation, and operating experience.
