This book presents models and methods for systems reliability assessment, human reliability analysis and uncertainty management. Section 1 describes basic reliability methods and applications. Section 2 deals with some advances in system reliability techniques. It includes contributions on the logical analysis of non-coherent fault trees, stochastic Petri nets and failure delay modelling. Dynamic systems are analysed using DYLAM and DYLAM-TRETA approaches. Section 3 is devoted to human reliability and uncertainty analysis. Cognitive models, fixation errors and the Bayesian estimation of reliability parameters are discussed. One contribution reviews the most important theories of quantitative reasoning under uncertainty currently implemented in expert systems.
