Certain facilities have been developed in relation to the use of infrared spectroscopic techniques for high sensitivity detection of trace gases in ambient air or in a photochemical reactor, in connection with laboratory studies of kinetics and mechanisms of atmospheric reactions and the measurement of spectral parameters of molecules of atmospheric interest. The facilities are operated in conjunction with databases of spectroscopic parameters compiled and regularly updated in some laboratories of the USA and Europe. This report concerns the program generated for use with a personal computer: - for inspection and analysis of compiled spectral parameters; - for generation of infrared transmission spectra, in Doppler, Lorentz and Voigt regimes, of atmospheric species, single or multispecies mixtures, using the available compilation of molecular spectral parameters or a "home-made" database; - for generation of second derivative (harmonic) spectra in Doppler, Lorentz and Voigt regimes; - for generation of spectra in a Doppler regime convoluted with a Gaussian function; - for generation of spectra in Lorentz regime convoluted with an instrumental function corresponding to the use of Happ-Genzel apodisation in a Fourier Transform Spectrometer; - for calculation of spectral parameters (line strength, pressure broadening coefficients) from experimental data; - for searching particular frequency regions from the database.
