Use of the technique of time-resolved fluorosensing for the identification and characterisation of oil in sea water and analysis of the water column
This paper describes a new LIDAR type instrument which was developed by the JRC and CISE to monitor oil slicks on the sea surface. It has been designed specifically to allow the identification of the oil type from the spectro-temporal characteristics of the laser induced fluorescence.
