Institute for Remote Sensing ApplicationsFunded under: JRC-REMSENS 4C
This leaflet outlines the facilities, objectives and current programme of the Institute for Remote Sensing Applications. Three main activities are included in the 1988-91 programmes: land applications (land use planning, vegetation dynamics in tropical areas and an agricultural pilot project), marine surveillance and the development of advanced techniques. The latter includes the application of microwaves to forests, agriculture and oceans, development of an operational laser fluorosensor and the use of imaging spectrometry techniques. Each one of these projects is explained in detail and there is a note on training.
