Limitations to the identification of spatial structures from AVHRR data
Satellite sensor data with different resolution-cell sizes have been used to show how sensor-induced spatial autocorrelation in High Resolution Picture Transmission (HRPT) data, and local variance induced by sampling in Global Area Coverage (GAC) data, may limit the use of Advanced Very High Resolution Radiometer (AVHRR) data for the identification of spatial structure and pattern.
