Abstract

A recalibration of the B73 and B74 reference deposits was achieved in the course of a programme aimed at preparing and characterising a new set of 10B and 6LiF deposits. This characterisation of a new set of 10B deposits revealed that the calibration of the 10B deposits used in the neutron lifetime experiment of Byrne et al. was in error. It is therefore recommended that this result be excluded from future evaluations of the neutron lifetime data.
