Abstract

The first set of experiments described in this paper involves the determination of pump line intensities from laser-produced plasmas. X-ray intensities (in photons per mode) emitted by resonance lines of neon-like ions are measured at a fixed pump laser intensity of 4 x 1.0E13 W/cm2 for a range of medium-Z materials. In a second set of experiments the feasibility of photo-resonant pumping in a geometry of two parallel line foci is demonstrated.
