Abstract

Biotechnology processes are used in medicine, pharmacology, the agrifoodstuffs sector and in the manufacture of all kinds of chemical products. This glossary, in the nine official EEC languages, has been prepared as an aid to translators and contains basic terms most commonly used in texts on biotechnological research. It is divided into two parts: a systematic corpus containing nearly seven hundred concepts and nine alphabetical indexes designed to facilitate the use of the corpus. The main purpose of this glossary is to provide equivalences in the Community's official languages.
