Abstract

Where the results for a particular measurement by various methods and from different laboratories do not agree, sources of errors can often be detected and eliminated by successive intercomparisons. High quality measurements, once achieved, can be maintained and made available to other laboratories in the form of certified reference materials. This paper describes BCR activities of this kind in the fields of workplace air monitoring, aromatic hydrocarbons in tenax and in charcoal, and chlorinated hydrocarbons.
