Community Research and Development Information Service - CORDIS

This publication presents the results obtained in multidisciplinary studies by teams from INRA, ENSA, universities and veterinary services. The aim was to improve systems of sheep husbandry using meadows, commons and alpine pastures in order to preserve an agro-sylvo-pastoral equilibrium threatened by the spread of desert and scrubland and by fire. The investigations have implications for vegetation, animal production (genetic type, pathology, husbandry techniques) and for animal/vegetation interaction.
