Abstract

An innovative lightweight wind turbine was constructed and tested in Northern Germany. The plant, type Südwind N 175, is grid-connected and has two induction generators (15 kW, 3 kW). The rotor uses three independent moveable flap-hinge rotor blades. The operation of the plant and its measuring equipment is described in detail. The results of short and long term measurements of the energy output of the plant are presented.
