Methodological developments and materials in salt-rock preparation for irradiation experiments
The production of synthetic salt-rock samples is described. These samples were machined, sawn, ground and glued, with a maximum of precision, a minimum of damage and in dry conditions (without water). Etching, peeling and thin section production were carried out on irradiated and unirradiated samples. Valves, end pieces and jackets were produced and tested. These operations were completed with the aim of producing samples for an HAW experiment.
