ESPRIT Project 302 was concerned with the analysis of the complexity of functional programs and their potential for parallel execution, and with the realisation of analytical methods in the form of a software tool, ACE. This book illustrates the importance of functional programming in software engineering. Subjects discussed include programming environments, functional programming, program analysis by abstract interpretation, and input and output in functional languages.
