The Common Functional Specifications (CFS) contain the framework of the synthesised results of Part I of the RACE programme. They are a compendium of principles and guidelines on the IBC concept, as well as of detailed specifications of services, interfaces and network elements. They address telecommunications issues in the context of the public network only. They are generated by the RACE technical workshops. This document, the sixth of issue A, considers various aspects of network management, such as terminology, architecture, performance monitoring and management objectives, as well as the various functional areas.
