Towards guidelines on the effective provision of public information on major industrial accident hazardsFunded under: JRC-INDHAZ 2C
A study has been carried out to provide an empirical evaluation of public information on major industrial accident hazards in the EC, focussing particularly on public responses to relevant communications. The JRC Ispra organised a workshop to use the study's interim findings as a basis for examining the feasibility of developing appropriate guidelines in relation to the Amended Article 8 of the Seveso Directive. The main objectives of the workshop were to: - describe and analyse the information campaigns which are the subject of the study; - discuss these results among the researchers and invited experts, and - use this study's interim findings and other related research and experience to consider the proposed European code of good practice.
