The document is the collection of the individual reports of the laboratories which participated in the intercomparison campaign. A synthesis report is published full size as EUR 11673. The optical transfer function (OTF) of a lens is used widely as an indicator for the quality in reproduction of images for both individual optical lenses and larger optical and electro-optical systems. The reports are the outcome of an international intercomparison of the measurement of the optical transfer function. Of the four laboratories taking part in the exercise, two employed image scanning instruments in their measurements whereas the other two used interferometers. The intercomparison demonstrated the capability of the participating laboratories to make equivalent measurements, within their uncertainties of measurement. The exercise identified some sources of error for two of the laboratories and consequently some modifications of equipment and software have been undertaken. It has been confirmed that the scanning and interferometric techniques can produce equivalent results, with equal accuracy.
