High resolution neutron transmission measurements for U and Sc thick composite filters
The spectral distribution of the neutron current behind U, U+W, U+Ge+Mn, U+Ge+Mn+W, Sc and Sc+Mn filter combinations was investigated with high resolution transmission measurements in the energy range from 15 eV up to 500 keV. The time-of-flight technique and the 50 m total cross-section beam facility of GELINA, running with 14 ns burst width, were used. The transmission, the energy positions, the width and the areas of the observed "windows" were calculated below 102 keV.
