Central Bureau for Nuclear Measurements : Annual report 1990Funded under: JRC-NUMEAS 4C, JRC-RES 6C
This report covers the activities of the Central Bureau for Nuclear Measurements (CBNM) during the third year of the multiannual programme 1988-91. A major portion of its work is defined by the specific research programme, Nuclear Measurements and Reference Materials. Results are reported on measurements such as neutron data for standards and fission cross-sections of uranium and plutonium, together with the development of an improved light-ion telescope for fusion work, and studies on silicon detector response and sources. The certification of four nuclear reference materials is also reported, together with the preparation and characterisation of other materials, and the preparation of nuclear samples and targets and biological and environmental reference materials for the BCR. Other work reported includes the operation of large facilities, exploratory research into transition radiation, trace metal analysis and IDMS, together with scientific and technical support to the Commission and for third parties. A list of publications is included.
