The report describes the initial phase of a project aimed at providing a means of assessing the quality of evaluation algorithms used in the software of coordinate measuring machines (CMM). Using five basic geometric elements (straight line, plane, circle, cylinder and cone) containing known distortions, the laboratory reports show that a significant proportion of CMM software either gives results containing errors of various degrees, or is unable to evaluate certain basic geometries. This is a collection of the individual reports of the six laboratories which participated. A synthesis report, EUR 10909, is published full size with the same title.
