High temperature properties of the strand shell (increase of the percentage of continuously castable steel types) : Volume 1
Specific continuous casting processes have been investigated within the scope of the cooperative research project "High-temperature properties of the strand shell". The purpose was to ensure a reliable control of the continuous casting process and to increase the percentage of continuously castable steels. The individual investigations covered the following fields: - high-temperature properties of the strand shell and cracking (Vol. 1), - determination of shrinkage processes and stresses during solidification, and - determination of strains and stresses in the flame cutting of steel grades susceptible to cracking (Vol. 2). The most important results of the investigation are briefly described.
