Abstract

The research is aimed at assessing the possibilities for extending the uses of the winning exploitation method which allows better performance during the digging of mines. A tumbler has been adapted for digging circular or elliptical sections. The main achievements were setting up a wagon and transforming the feed table in order to allow the cuttings to be carried out in a curved section, preparing a setting for the handling and laying of supports, the development of a prototype of temporary supports and a system of automatic cut for arched sections.
