Abstract

Results of the tests carried out on one of the six Tore Supra neutral beam injectors are reported. Several minor modifications of the injector design made it possible to operate up to 92 keV - 30 A beams limited by the high voltage power supplies. Results of studies on different topics such as the new titanium pumping system, neutron yield from neutraliser and target, beam conditioning and breakdown statistical analysis are also reported. A peculiar statistical behaviour of breakdowns in the presence of the beam, which has been found in these experiments, is described.
