Abstract

The report describes a comparison between the predictions of various computer codes for the first Phebus-FP experiment. This is a 1/5000 scale representation of a severe accident sequence in a light water reactor. The bundle, the primary circuit and the containment are examined separately. Six different organisations took part in the exercise using a total of fifteen different codes. The results give a preliminary indication of the likely course of events. Modelling differences in the various codes are highlighted and deficiencies in the proposed boundary conditions are pointed out.
