MAESTRO1 data set calibration : The JRC approach
In order to achieve extended target discrimination and recognition in remote sensing projects concerning forestry and agriculture, a well-calibrated data set is required. In particular, these data are needed to support studies of possible cross-calibration of images from different sensors, either airborne or satellite-based. The different calibration techniques can then be investigated and checked. The algorithms used for phase and radiometric calibrations are given, and the software tools developed to support the calibration data processing are described. Results obtained from calibration in the test sites of Freiburg and Flevoland are presented.
