Abstract

The rotational motion of the Cp(=C(5)H(5)) rings is examined as a function of temperature in the actinide organometallic compound UCp(3)Cl. Major differences occur in the dynamic behaviour in the temperature regions 300 to 240 K, 240 to 78 K, and below 78 K. Crystallographic phase transitions are observed at 240 and 78 K. Comparisons are made with studies on other Cp systems.
