This report describes the methods and results of tests carried out to ensure and demonstrate the quality of the PF coils at the stages of planning and manufacture. It also sets out the requirements to be met in controlling and monitoring the operation of AUG, if coil damage is to be avoided. The measurement techniques used to obtain data required for monitoring - such as temperatures, flows, pressure and movements - were tested under magnetic field conditions. In the course of the PF coil electrical current tests, the measurement processes were shown to work effectively under near operating conditions. The part of the monitoring directed specifically at the coils was developed and tested. The measurements were checked, and some required conversion into meaningful values (stresses) and comparison with permitted ones. Positive and negative results of comparisons are then available for use in the control and monitoring of AUG, and can be processed further within the framework of the conditions established.
