ECDIN - Source of information on occurrence and fate of xenobiotics in air, water and soil and terrestrial, freshwater and marine ecotoxicity
The need for information to facilitate environmental and health risk assessment has grown with the increasing awareness of risks associated with production, distribution and use of xenobiotic chemicals. The ECDIN databank contains a wide variety of data on chemicals which are being produced by human activity in such amounts as to be actually or potentially of environmental significance, and deals with the whole spectrum of parameters and properties that might help the user to evaluate real or potential risks linked to the use of a chemical and its economical and ecological impact. This paper considers ECDIN as a source of information on the occurrence and fate of chemicals in the environment.
