Abstract

The Sprint programme of the CEC's DG XIII supports over 80 transnational technology transfer networks of intermediaries in the field of technology transfer. These networks consist of groups of contractors, normally one from each member state, which have as their main objective the creation of transnational agreements between small and medium-sized enterprises in the member states represented in the network. The contractors meet annually to review the performance of the programme and discuss new initiatives. The 1991 conference included presentations on the introduction of a scheme of payment on results, and the Sprintlink electronic mail and conferencing service recently introduced to assist the rapid exchange of company profiles within and between the networks. Parallel working sessions discussed these issues and the developing opportunities for technology transfer in Eastern Europe.
