State of advancement of the EC research programme on pool scrubbing
The EC Commission has launched an activity on pool scrubbing in the framework of its Shared-Cost-Action Programme 1988-91. The activity started at the beginning of 1991 and will extend over three years. The contractors involved are: AEA Technology/SRD Culcheth, the Consorcio LACE-Espana (E) Madrid and ENEA/CRE Casaccia. SRD has performed a comparative study on existing pool scrubbing codes. LACE-E and ENEA are to carry out an experimental programme for the validation of respective models. The code comparison of SRD has been completed and a review of available experimental data is in progress. LACE-E started with the first test series and carried out pretest calculations with the codes SPARC and BUSCA. The contract with ENEA has not yet been signed. First tests with the SPARTA facility are scheduled for 1992.
