EAC-2 calculations of the neutronic feedback effects of the fuel behaviour up to and after pin failure in a LMFBR core
The European Accident Code-2 (EAC-2) will be an advanced tool for the analysis of the initiation phase of unprotected whole-core accidents in LMFBRs. This includes Loss-of-Flow (LOF), Transient Overpower (TOP) and Loss-of-Heat-Sink (LOHS) accidents. The major new features of EAC-2 are its detailed fuel pin behaviour module TRANSURANUS, the fuel motion model MDYN and the time-dependent three-dimensional neutronics calculation. The description of the latter is the main topic of this paper, but a short overview of the other modules of the code is also presented.
