The three papers in this report concern high temperature plasma diagnostics. The first paper presents a feasibility study of bulk ion temperature measurement on JET by means of a collective scattering of gyrotron radiation. Various geometries are considered (theta(s) = 20 , 40 , 90 , 148 ), and the scattering structure function for a deuterium plasma, and the signal to noise ratio for the related measurement, are calculated. The second paper concerns a benchmark experiment for the absolute calibration of the FTU tokamak neutron activation system, with the aim of comparing experimental and numerical values for the absolute reaction rates. An agreement within 22% was found. The third paper describes the in situ calibration of the BF(3) detectors system used for measuring the total neutron yield on the FTU tokamak. Data on the response of the different detectors as a function of source position are presented, and the effect of the different spectra of the neutron sources is analysed.
