An analysis is presented of a microinstability based model of anomalous transport which accounts for the effect of trapped electron dynamics and ion temperature gradients. A comparison with the experimental results of FT, TFTR and ASDEX shows good agreement for the case of ohmic or moderate auxiliary heating. In the case of strong auxiliary heating, the convective part of the electron heat flux can be overestimated.
