Telemonitoring techniques for solar thermal installations in hotels in Greece, its European dimension and interactionFunded under: FP1-ENNONUC 3C
The implementation of advanced monitoring techniques (based principally on telemonitoring systems) is believed to increase significantly the reliability and efficiency of operation of active solar systems installed in hotels in Greece and to contribute to further development of the solar market. Instrumentation has been installed in the solar systems of five hotels (three in Crete, one on the island of Kos and one in Athens). The solar system and instrumentation used in one hotel are described. Initial measurements are presented for a typical day for this hotel. It was possible to provide advice to the hotel owners resulting in a considerable increase in the efficiency of the solar systems. Problems were associated mainly with the control systems.
