The feasibility study of active CX diagnostics of alpha particles and other fast ion minorities in the MeV energy range shows the following advantages of this method: (i) the counting rates corresponding to accelerated 3He(+2), minority tritons and alpha particles are high enough for reliable detection; (ii) detection efficiency for fast atoms is nearly 100%; (iii) the database of relevant cross-sections for the diagnostic is sufficient; (iv) plasma transparency for MeV atoms is about 30-80% and (v) the absence of plasma self emission in this energy range.
