Abstract

This report provides a literature-based inventory, incorporating expert knowledge, of information available on vines in France. Three main aspects of the crop are covered: (i) agronomy and crop production; (ii) physiological and environmental conditions for vine growth; (iii) a summary of relationships between vine yields and weather conditions. This inventory has been compiled so as to be compatible with standard weather data, with a geographical information system holding a 1:1,000,000 soils map of the EC, with data from EUROSTAT and information derived from satellite imagery.
